WHY DOES MY HELMET NEED REPLACING?

Kido Sports Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Kido Sports”), the manufacturer of EXO-C90 DOT and Harley-Davidson HD-X06 DOT motorcycle helmets (the HD-X06 helmet is the same design as the EXO-C90 helmet, with the only difference being the exterior graphics and packaging), has determined that the retention system for the below mentioned helmets and periods may be noncompliant with FMVSS No. 218 standards and is issuing a voluntary recall.

EXO-C90 DOT
Produced between August 2021 through May 2022
Size: All sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL)

HD-X06 DOT
Produced between Aug 2021 through Apr 2022
Size: All sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL)

HELMET STYLE

Determine your helmet style

There are 2 styles of EXO-C90 helmets affected in the voluntary recall; Solid, and Kalavara

There are 2 styles of HD-X06 helmets affected in the voluntary recall; Curbside, and Curbside DLX.

MODEL NAME

Check the DOT Certification sticker on the back of the helmet to confirm the helmet model name.

PRODUCTION DATE

Confirm the production date of your helmet.

The production date is identified in the QC sticker that can be found on the inner wall of the EPS liner after peeling off the crown liner as shown in the photograph to the right. 

EXO-C90 DOT helmets affected in the recall were produced between August 2021 and May 2022.

HD-X06 helmets affected in the recall were produced between Produced between August 2021 through April 2022

DOES YOUR HELMET MEET ALL OF THE ABOVE?

If your helmet meets all of the above criteria please STOP USING THE HELMET IMMEDIATELY and contact us to begin the recall process. We have several means of contact; hot line, email, or recall submission form below.

If your helmet does not meet all of the above criteria it is not subject to the recall and no action is needed.

REMEDY PROGRAM:

After issuing the RMA number(s), our office will arrange for the collection of your helmet. Upon receipt of your helmet, a replacement helmet will be provided to you. Both the collection of your existing helmet and the delivery of the replacement helmet will be handled by our forwarder free of charge.

Please note that your helmet will be replaced with a matte black helmet of the same size. For graphic helmet owners, in addition to providing a replacement matte black helmet, we will also provide a free sunshield for each replacement helmet. Please further note that the replacement helmets are expected to be ready at our warehouse after August 26, 2024.

If you have sold or given away a recalled helmet prior to receiving this notice, then please email us or call our hotline number and provide information about the person to whom you gave or sold the recalled helmet.
